Number One orchestra was created by dissident members of the Star Band around 1977 and featured singers Papa Seck and Mar Seck, Mamane Fall on Tama drums... and used several name's variations : Orchestra Number One de Dakar, No. 1 De Dakar, Starband Number One etc. It's a perfect example of modern Senegalese music in the 70s, melting Afro-Cuban influences and M'Balax style with the Sabar rhythms often doubling in tempo at the end of tracks. Sleeve has important edge wear and ring wear -often happens with this particular sleeve- but no seam split. Clean record plays greatly with minimum surface noise. Solid condition!
