New or Used : Original used Format : Tape Grading Cover / Record : EX / EX Label : editions bouarfa Year : Early 80s Catalog No / Pressing country : EBC.10 - France
Early tape from Editions Bouarfa's catalogue - probably from 1980 or 1981. Samir Belkheir was known later as Samir Staïfi; he lived several years in Lyon, and has been a really important figure in the development and the "modernization" of staifi repertoire and aesthetics. He was an early experimenter of the genre, using drum machines, synths & effects into his compositions, as much as blending it with Algeria's other musical expressions - for example, with trumpet player and raï master Messaoud Bellemou. This tape features beautiful compositions with early 80s synths and a nice crossover orchestration. Only two (long) tracks on A side, four on b-side. Top condition for such an old tape!
Tracklist A1 Amar El Feni A2 Djit Ngoul Bahi B1 Mada Ghadni El Mehri B2 Hamla Fessag Rdif B3 Djirani Ya Djirani B4 Houne Ya Omri Houne
