Rachid Baba Ahmed's sought-after tape! Rachid produced raï mostly because of it's economic appeal; but what he really loved was electronic music: he was an absolute fan of Jean-Michel Jarre, as many other musicians of his generation. Throughout this tape, he completely gives free rein to his passion. Ambient music melted with North-African percussive repertoire and raï music's typical melodies played on synth ("Ma Hlali Noum", a popular raï music song) through killer library-like funky themes. There's no equivalent at that time in Algeria (still nowadays?). If J.-M. Jarre was his idol, Daniel Frajeman was his master! Moreover, this tape features instrumental productions only. This is the Moroccan pressing; the original was issued on his own imprint in Algeria — and SEDICAV had the licence for the rest of the world.
NM copy, both cover and sound. A true collector's item!
