Gwo Ka (litterally 'big drum') is a traditional style from Guadeloupe island in the French West Indies, it's based on call and response chants, often with conscious lyrics and sung in Creole (in opposition to the dominant French language), accompanied with percussions. Gwakasonne ('drums are coming') is one of the foremost bands of this genre, famous for their fusion style, incorporating some horns ans synths. Features respected musicians such as Jean-Pierre Coquerelle, Eddy Renoux-Latour, Aurel Thams, Edmony Krater (not on this one) among others.
Cover is solid VG++ condition with general wear mostly on spines & corners, light ring wear. Record has few superficial hairlines but plays EX. Top condition!
