Bekakchi Khier (or Bekakchi El Khier) is an important figure of modern staïfi music, a popular genre from Western Algeria, near the city of Sétif. His early productions, as many staïfi singers of his generation, where issued on 7 inches on Hamza Lamri's Etherlux (along with Nourdine Staïfi, Zoubir Belkheir, Tchier Abdelghani, Chaba Zoulikha & more).
Bekakchi had quite a prolific carrier - and has explored the setifian traditional repertoire mostly through acoustic instrumentation.
But this tape reveals a shift in his carrier! We're in the 90s and electronic instruments conquered the world - a revolution that Bekakchi seazed to visit anew his own repertoire.
Killer versions of ???, full of ethereal synth pads, old-school style drum machine and effects (reverb, delay). A la Nordine Staïfi productions. Rare! And sealed.
