Details / Info

This rare compilation is the very first release of the Guinean national label Syliphone founded in 1966. It's featuring some of the main orchestras of the rising modern Guinean music (and modern African music generally), with a picture of 'modern' instruments on cover and propaganda liner notes at back. Featured bands are Kindia (AKA Dirou Band), Paillotta (AKA Orchestre de La Paillote), Kissidougou (AKA Niandan Jazz) Jardin De Guinée, Télé Jazz and Palm Jazz.
Sleeve has complete split of top and bottom seams, some dirt and aging. Record has a lot of scuffs, plays with constant surface noise and crackling. A piece of history!
