Mohamed Belkhayati (born Mohamed Beladassi) is considered as an early modernizer of bédoui - a traditionnal genre from Wahran's internland, also part of raï music's DNA - by introducing foreign instruments such as derbouka or violin. He is deeply respected throughout Algeria, as one of the country mordern folklore's key figure. Here's an old pressing (early 80s) from Sonia Disques, an imprint from Marseille that issued several tapes from him. Belkhayati even introduced an oud on several tracks ! A-side as a bit more gain and brightness - however the sound is great for such an old (and rare) item ! Sleeve is EX, tape is graded VG + because of the patchy sound quality between both sides.
Tracklist A1 Khalti Kheoudja A2 Ana Kelemti N'Kolha A3 Ma Zal Andna Rdjal B1 Dkhalt Lel Lycée B2 Hassit Belgoram B3 Aoudou Billah
