Etat général : Original occasion Format : 45T (EP 4 titres) Etat pochette / disque : EX / EX Label : ngoma Année : 1962 Numéro / Pays de pressage : 50 - France
Rare early 60's Afro-Latin EP by Congolese band Orchestre Jazz Babalou featuring singers Mario Lopés and Phil-Philo. Like most of the orchestras in 60's West Africa, their main influence was Afro-Cuban and latin music, creating their own cross-Atlantic versions of Rumba, cha-cha and boléro, wether sung in Lingala or (approximative) Spanish. Led by Phil-Phillo, the band (firstly named Viviane Mambo) recorded at least 12 EPs and 10inches in the late 50's and early 60's on the famous Ngoma label.
Record is shiny but still plays with light surface noise and a few ticks due to fragile pressing. Rare item in amazing condition.
Tracklist A1 Bokenge A2 Dede Yo Deprisa B1 Nalembi Nakozela B2 Louise Naboyi Kosamba
