Cheb Djallel was reknown through all the Maghreb and beyond - partly because his musical style was hybrid. Originating from Tlemcen, in the Eastern part of Algeria (near the border with morocco), he was a talented oud player. His music was influenced by moroccan chaâbi as much as raï music, saf, reggae, and many more. He was an early collaborator of Rachid & Fethi - whom, as many other, made the fame of many Algerian singers during the 80s & 90s.
Here's a great tape issued on the Marseille imprint Edition Dixishop - a city where he was living, and where he died of a car accident in 2002.
Inclues a killer reggae instrumental!
Super clean item.
