Great tape by chaoui singer Bouzid El Guelmi. Chaoui music inherits most of its musical characteristics from sraoui traditional chant - that comes from the Aurès region, in the Eastern mountains of Algeria, and mostly performed for traditional or popular festivities (weddings, circumcisions, harvests or religious events). This tape features chaoui's traditional orchestration (bendir, gasba, voice). Some of the songs' themes are more common throughout Algeria - as sraoui lyrics are a blend of melhoun and popular and rurban chants : Moul El Bar (The Bar Owner, A3) is also the song with which Cheb Zahouani became famous in 1988.
